Tim Cummings
"I have always been enthralled with electricity; think about its magic! When we were children, my brothers and sisters and I would tape flashlight batteries to wooden rulers, connect wires to a dc lightbulb, and make makeshift flashlights. It always mystified me how power could leave the battery and make the light burn brightly. Even today, with all our knowledge of science, we still do not understand 100% how electricity works.”
Tim entered the electrical industry in 1979 at 19 years old after dropping out of an electrical engineering program. “I was not focused enough then for a formal education,” but he knew he wanted to own his own business someday. Tim had family in the electrical industry, and has always been fascinated by electricity, so it was a semi-natural progression for him. He went through an electrical apprenticeship program for four years, working days and going to night school one night a week as an electrician, the other nights to earn an associate degree in business management.
Tim quickly became a journeyman electrician, and then a supervisor running crews and then projects. He worked hard and continued learning and went through virtually every position one can hold in the electrical industry.
In fall of 2002, Tim took everything he owned and purchased a small electrical firm which was transformed into our current company, Cummings Electrical. “We have created a strong culture in our company and grown it steadily from $6 million in revenue in 2002 to where we are today.”
As Founder and CEO, Tim chairs the advisory board, strategy team, and operational leadership team—driving strategy, enculturating continuous improvement, developing people and leaders, and defining and redefining Cummings’ value propositions.
“I love finding creative ways to solve problems; it gets me fired up daily.” Tim’s major drive is to continue to build an innovative culture and generate new paths for customers and employees—and have a good bit of fun doing so.
Tim is married to his lovely and very patient wife and has a wonderful energetic young son.
“Spending time with my family is most important when I am away from work…kids sports, rescue mutts, traveling, working out (never enough), and cooking consume our time. I recently began playing the guitar again, though very poorly, and I appreciate the mindfulness and strong core that yoga provides for me.”
Personal vices: hunting, fishing, and playing poker.

When Jarid is not enjoying working with the Cummings’ family or helping to solve problems for our customers, he is spending time with his wife Brittany and daughter Ellie, playing 18 holes on a golf course, playing sports, hunting, fishing, or spending time outdoors.

Michael Osborn
“Shortly after being introduced to Cummings Electrical and meeting the leadership team, I was hooked! They spoke so passionately about their people, culture, and continuous improvement. I knew right away this was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. That evening, I told my wife and kids about the interview and what the Cummings Electrical team had shared. We knew it meant moving from Houston to Dallas and leaving everything we knew behind. What may have seemed like a difficult decision wasn’t!”
Michael joined Cummings Electrical in 2023 as the Chief People Officer, and is responsible for Human Resources, Training and Development, and Communications. After graduating from Baylor University, he started his career consulting at Arthur Andersen. Prior to joining Cummings, Michael served as Vice President of Human Resources at nVent Thermal Management and has held various progressing HR positions with Pentair and CB&I.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter at the baseball field, cheering on #8 doing his thing, or at the barn, watching his daughter on her horse "Banks" as they take the next jump. Michael loves being outdoors, fly fishing, and sitting by a campfire. His interests include home improvement projects, watching baseball, traveling, and getting family and friends together.

Ryan Windham
“Not everyone can pin the exact moment that the trajectory of their life was changed, but I can. In September of 2008, while guiding a fly-fishing trip in Montana, I was offered the opportunity to join Cummings Electrical by a client who was not catching any fish that day and was about to be launched out of my boat. Thankfully for any potential future fishing clients, I accepted.”
Since that day, Ryan has worked as an estimator, pre-construction manager, project manager, Strategic Account Manager, Vice President of Service, and President of Integrated Manufacturing.
“I love this company because I’m surrounded by people who genuinely care about each other and have a common purpose to be part of something great. I love that there’s always an opportunity for a new challenge and an incredible team that wants to dive in and overcome.”
When Ryan is not laughing with his team and providing incredible service to our customers, you’ll find him with his wife and two boys in the pool or daydreaming about bow hunting, fly fishing, and playing in the mountains and rivers of Montana.

Brad loves to spend time with his family and enjoys different outdoor activities with his two boys.
Education: Attended College in Europe and got his first Journeyman Electrical License in 2001.

David spent the last two years as the Director of Operations for Service and was most recently promoted to VP and Partner.
When David isn’t at work, he enjoys traveling with his wife and daughters as well as hunting, fishing, and watching his favorite sports team. David’s formal training includes graduating from IEC and getting his Journeyman license. However, great mentors such as Don Ruemke and on-the-job training have been the most valuable in his career.
Bryan Vrla
Bryan started his career in Engineering in 2003 doing MEP design consulting. His love of engineering started early with his grandfather, who was also an electrical engineer and would share with him the projects he was working on. In 2010, he gained enough experience to get his Professional Engineering license.
At Cummings, Bryan learned to combine his knowledge of electrical engineering with electrical contracting to solve important issues in both pre-construction and out on jobsites. On his first jobsite project with Cummings, he led the commissioning effort for a mission-critical project, which was exciting for him to get see many critical pieces of equipment come together and function as an entire system.
Bryan is now the VP of Integrated Manufacturing over Pre-Construction and Engineering. Cummings' Integrated Manufacturing designs and produces EV charging skids, MEP trade support structures, and modular data facility infrastructures for leading data center clientele. This new and intriguing industry has opened a whole new set of opportunities for Cummings and is an area of passion for him.
When Bryan isn’t at work, he likes to watch and play all kinds of sports. He especially enjoys watching his kids various activities and spending time outdoors hiking and camping as a family.
